GRADED ON THE CURVE... turn it in... important for the exam FINAL exam will be a comparison... a place from the field trip and a place from USGS Water Supply Paper 2242... So.. you can do great on the field trip one, and then "be dangerous" as you compare it to a different place. Office hours AND BY APPOINTMENT.. email me... I'll be here all next week but am going away for the weekend, getting back on Tuesday May 4 and the exam is Wednesday May 5... so... don't put off coming and seeing me. USGS Water Supply Paper 2242 is on reserve at Marriott (2 hr reserve); LINK to pdf on web; and LINK to pdf on course web site. USGS Basic Ground-Water Hydrology, Water Supply Paper 2220, LINK to USGS website. FIRST... look the place over... case it out... Google Earth, Fly to Yucca Mountain NEXT... figure out the elevation differences... the lay of the land... the topography... With the nifty profiler... generate the profile with the computer... sketch the profile onto page 2. NEXT... figure out the hydrologic setting. Think as you figure it out. Hydrologic setting... Go to USGS Water Suppy Paper 2242 (Ground-Water Regions of the United States) LINK . Look up Nevada (back page map). Go to that section. Note how the text "answers" most of the questions of your assignment. How lovely. Control your enthusiasm and understand the figures. Of course there are other ways to do this and other resources, example LINK . FIGURE 17 USGS wsp-2242 -- course link FIGURE 18 USGS wsp-2242 -- course link
